Palm Harbor is primarily a residential community in Pinellas County , located about 30 minutes from downtown St. Petersburg and Tampa. Downtown Palm Harbor, located north of Tampa road between alternate Highway 19 and Omaha St. , is the heart of where Palm Harbor was founded in 1888. Two historical downtown Palm Harbor buildings still remain on the corner of Florida Avenue . This area of Palm Harbor is also home to numerous festivals and great family events throughout the year. Just a mile or two East of the downtown Palm Harbor area is US Highway 19, which offers access to hundreds of businesses, retailers and restaurants. The prestigious community of Innisbrook, in Palm Harbor , is home to a nationally known championship golf course. Innisbrook is a great family community of homes, condos, town homes and villas boasting numerous amenities.

The beautiful city of Palm Harbor is approximately 26 sq. miles, with 8 sq. miles being water and 18 sq. miles of land. Palm Harbor contains a population of over 70,000 residents and is home to the best public schools in Pinellas County , Florida.

Honeymoon Island State Park is a barrier island at the end of Causeway Boulevard located across from Palm Harbor , Ozona and Crystal Beach. This State Park is actually located in Dunedin Florida , right on the border of Palm Harbor. Honeymoon Island sits on almost 3000 acres of beautiful raw land and has beautiful beaches, mangroves, slash pines, osprey and other migrating birds to enjoy.

Palm Harbor is home to quite a few beautiful state parks. John Chestnut Park is a beautifully tree shaded park located right on the east side of Lake Tarpon . You can bring your boat and launch it, have a picnic at one of the many shelters or picnic tables, play softball, let your dogs exercise at the dog park area and have your kids entertained for hours on the playground. Anderson Park is located on the west side of Lake Tarpon . This Palm Harbor state park is full of rolling hills and wide open spaces full of beautiful green grass. At Anderson Park you could also bring your boat, your kids and your dogs. You will enjoy great picnicking areas in the grass, under the trees were down by the water. Wall Springs Park is on the border of Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. This Palm Harbor State Park sits close to the Gulf of Mexico and has its own spring fed lagoon full of beautiful fish. Wall Springs Park has the only playground in Pinellas County that is covered to protect our children from sunburn. The shelters next to the playground are a great place to have birthday parties all year round. At Wall Springs Park there are running and walking trails, a lookout tower over the water and a boardwalk to enjoy the natural springs. Other smaller parks in the area include Hammock Park , which hosts camps and nature walks and Putnam Park , which host baseball games, football games, tennis and a fenced in playground.

Palm Harbor is a great city for families to live because of its central location and beautiful surroundings. It is only minutes from beaches, shopping, restaurants, recreation and airports.
