Palm Harbor is home to quite a few beautiful state parks. John Chestnut Park is a beautifully tree shaded park located right on the east side of Lake Tarpon . You can bring your boat and launch it, have a picnic at one of the many shelters or picnic tables, play softball, let your dogs exercise at the dog park area and have your kids entertained for hours on the playground. Anderson Park is located on the west side of Lake Tarpon . This Palm Harbor state park is full of rolling hills and wide open spaces full of beautiful green grass. At Anderson Park you could also bring your boat, your kids and your dogs. You will enjoy great picnicking areas in the grass, under the trees were down by the water. Wall Springs Park is on the border of Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. This Palm Harbor State Park sits close to the Gulf of Mexico and has its own spring fed lagoon full of beautiful fish. Wall Springs Park has the only playground in Pinellas County that is covered to protect our children from sunburn. The shelters next to the playground are a great place to have birthday parties all year round. At Wall Springs Park there are running and walking trails, a lookout tower over the water and a boardwalk to enjoy the natural springs. Other smaller parks in the area include Hammock Park , which hosts camps and nature walks and Putnam Park , which host baseball games, football games, tennis and a fenced in playground.
